The Spiritual Philosophy of Ibn al-'Arabi: Between the Exoteric and Escoteric Dimension

<p class="abstrak">The objective of this article is to examine the spiritual philosophy Ibn al-‘Arabi especially stages start from religious teaching aspects (exoteric) and (esoteric). The complexity al-‘Arabi’s teachings needs be investigate respond accusations conservative groups that state practices done by spiritualists are deviant even considered as strange behavior a symptom mental illness. Through literature study, research uses descriptive analysis method or content with normative theological approach Arabi's works. present study first investigated how al-’Arabi explained dichotomy between exoteric esoteric dimensions also its impact on psychology in his philosophy. findings showed such repentance, asceticism, austerity, ecstasy, clairvoyance, so transcendental consciousness which cannot understood using only dimension, but obedience toward dimension.
